DEFINITION: Influencership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of individuals, influencership influences products and markets, which achieve a shared vision.

Since I founded and created the LoongList influencer marketing platform, I’ve never stopped thinking and defining what is influencership?

Influencers influence people, and influencership influences products and market.

Before we dive into the definition of influencership, let’s try reverse thinking and take a glance at what influencership is not.

Influencership has nothing related to peoples’ position in an organization or company. Most influencers are ordinary people, the interesting thing is being an influencer becomes a part-time job for some people and the topic which makes them influential is totally different from their current occupation.

Obviously, influencership won’t naturally happen when you reach a high position, although we can find some key figures have it.

Influencership has nothing related to title and social class. This is the same concept as the point above, the more and more grass-roots including you and me show up a tremendous influencership.

Influencership has nothing related to personal traits. When people talk about the influencer, and most of you may think of extroverted charismatic, and talkative people. Is influencership an adjective or a tag?

We don’t think extroverted charismatic traits can practice influencership very well, and those people don’t influence automatically.

We have seen some YouTubers gain a large number of followers, and they don’t even speak any words. Like, Liziqi

Influencership isn’t leadership. Influencership is part of leadership, influencers influence people and can be influenced by people.

What is influencership by using exclusion.

The only definition of an influencer is people who have a larger number of followers. Is this definition so simple? Some big celebrities do, but they have less influence on followers’ buying choices.

Influencership is the competence to convert audiences into consumers. It is true, but it seems to lack vision and others.

The influencers are the bridge between products and customers, their solid expertise makes them influential. If they could make some improvement on products or services, or make some customized products or services by leveraging brands’ technology or manufacturing capacity, here, you will see some shared vision.

We believe, when people become influencers and gain influencership, they may dream more, and take more responsibility.
